First impressions are lasting. From the second a potential buyer approaches your home, they are checking to make certain that everything is well maintained, neat, and in its place. It is imperative that you take every measure to ensure that your home will pass even the most meticulous inspection.



Don't over sell your home, let it sell itself. By following a few simple steps, you can decrease the selling time of your house, and increase the value.
On approaching your home, they should see a neatly landscaped yard, free of clutter, and be greeted by a clean, freshly scrubbed door.
Decorate for a quick sale; faded walls and worn woodwork reduce appeal. A quicker sale at a higher price will usually result.
Let the sun shine in. Open draperies and curtains to let the prospect see how cheerful your home can be.
Fix that faucet! Dripping water discolors sinks and indicates faulty plumbing.
Repairs can make a big difference. Loose door knobs, doors, windows that stick, warped drawers, and other minor flaws diminish home value.
Safety first. Keep stairways and floors clean. Avoid cluttered appearances and possible injuries.
Straighten closets. Neat closets indicated ample storage space.
Bathrooms help sell homes and should sparkle. Check and repair caulking in bathtubs and showers.
Arrange bedrooms neatly. Remove excess furniture. Use attractive bedspreads and accessories.
Other Notes: Turn on lights for evening inspections. Make sure children and pets are quietly out of the way. Turn off radios and televisions when showing your house, the exception being low stereo music to set a nice mood.
